New benches latest improvement at Bocce Complex

Pat Milich

As participation in one of PebbleCreek’s most popular sports continues to expand, so has the need for adequate seating for Bocce team players. That need was met last month when 16 new concrete benches were installed at the community’s Bocce Complex at Eagle’s Nest. Added to the 16 benches that already existed at the complex, there now is enough permanent seating at each of the eight courts to accommodate all team members, thus eliminating the need for players to bring their own chairs to the courts.

The cost of the benches and their installation were paid by the Bocce Association.

There are currently a total of 65 teams with 613 players participating in the fall season.

Due to the overwhelming growth in the Bocce Association membership and the time it now takes to develop and disseminate the information associated with the beginning of each new season, early registration for the Winter 2017 Season’s Day and Night Leagues is strongly encouraged.

Registration forms must be turned in for all teams or individuals wishing to participate in the Winter Season, which begins on January 10, 2017 on or before December 6, 2016. No phone or email registrations will be accepted. Mail-in or drop-off registrations with all fees paid will be accepted by the Association Treasurer Mollie McErlean if received on or before December 3, 2016 at 16114 West Fairmount Avenue, Goodyear, Arizona 85395. In person registration will take place on December 5 and December 6 from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the ticket kiosk located in the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse.
