President’s Corner: Grateful. This is how I feel about our club. To make a club strong, we need a lot of people who do bits and pieces of a lot of things. That is what we have here in PebbleCreek, many members helping in small to very large ways. Thank you so much for volunteering to do those bits and pieces of a lot of things. All these volunteers are what makes our club strong and makes me incredibly grateful. Thank you!

Donations for the New Courts: Marty Aalto recently presented a $3,800 check to our club, representing funds from his last t-shirt fundraiser for the new pickleball courts. Please contact Marty for your new shirts; let’s see if he can top that $3,800 check! Thank you, Marty, for all your efforts with the t-shirt sales for the new courts.

PebbleCreek Club Championship Tournament: The PebbleCreek Pickleball Club Championship Tournament is set for March 10 through 13. Registration is open on CourtReserve through March 3. Club members in good standing can play, and there are no extra fees. There will be no waitlist or limit on entries.

USA Pickleball-Sanctioned Tournament: After a one-year hiatus, our USA Pickleball-sanctioned tournament was ready to roll! From Feb. 9 to 11, our biggest tournament of the year saw players from all over the USA and Canada compete right here in PebbleCreek. One of Arizona’s most popular tournaments, this tournament is home to the largest single-venue pickleball club in the world—us! And it is one of the most popular USA Pickleball-sanctioned tournaments there is. Thanks to all the volunteers for making this a popular, fun, generous, well-run, and amazing event!

Men’s and Women’s Final4: Just in case you missed it, the Men’s and Women’s Final4 was held on Jan. 13 and 14, with 112 women and 128 men participating in the event. The Final4 is all about allowing newer players, non-tournament players, and veteran players to experience the fun of tournament play in a relaxed environment, with a guarantee of eight to nine games. Next year’s Final4 will be held on March 10, 11, and 13. It’s great fun!

Officers Needed: The annual election for the PebbleCreek Pickleball Club Board of Directors is open to all members of our club. Elections will occur at the beginning of March. Interested members are asked to please send your name and officer position to Bob Chester at [email protected].
