By popular request, at the Wednesday, March 4 meeting of the Pet Companions Club of PebbleCreek, Heather Gabaldon from the Phoenix chapter of Breeder Release Adoption Service will be our guest speaker.

Breeder Release Adoption Service (BRAS) is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from puppy mills, large scale breeders and dog auctions. Many of the dogs they rescue have lived their whole lives in small wire cages where their entire purpose is to produce litters of puppies to be sold to pet stores or on the internet.

Once Breeder Release Adoption Service rescues the dogs they are all evaluated, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested, teeth cleaned, microchipped and have any health issues taken care of. After any rehabilitation issues are corrected, the organization strives to match the dogs with forever homes. Our residents enjoyed her presentation here last year and she has promised to bring a few of her small, rescued dogs that are available for adoption again this year. For further information on Breeder Release Adoption Service, their website is: www.breederadoptions.org.

All PebbleCreek residents, whether club members or not, are invited to attend this important, free presentation on Wednesday, March 4, at 3:00 p.m. in Room 100 of the Eagle’s Nest Activities Center.

As always, a box will be available for donations of such pet related items as pet toys, pet food (check expiration dates), pet beds, crates, cages, blankets, towels, etc.; no sheets or pillowcases, please. Those items not used for our own PebbleCreek rescues will be donated to other area animal rescue organizations. For any questions please call Jim or Marge Ellison at 623-935-6651.
