Meet Nancy Turner, our August member spotlight. Nancy and her husband of 44 years, Stan, grew up, married, and raised their two sons in Salem, Ore., where their sons and their families still live. Nancy worked as RN at Oregon Health Sciences in Hillsborough and was in management the last 20 years of her career after earning her masters in Nursing Leadership and Management. She had retired pre-COVID, but went back to a bedside nursing role once the governor of Oregon made a public plea for health care professionals to return and help out during COVID. Nancy worked in the OR, Surgical Practices, Cardiovascular, and Neurology Units, and was always available to help those in management with the difficulties they encountered during the difficult time.
The Turners moved to PebbleCreek in January 2022, but were not full time until the following January once Nancy retired a second time. She hit the ground running! She is an avid walker and exerciser, plays pickleball and golf, and is the social chair for her Unit 58. Nancy fell for Glass Arts, took a Glass Fusing class in March 2023, and again, hit the ground running! She is always looking for something different to make/do with glass and is up for any challenge. She is pictured here with some of her many projects using different forms of glass and different techniques.
