Marge Ellison
Tom Hofer, a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Goodyear Fire Department, will be the guest speaker at the Wednesday, April 6 meeting of the Pet Companions Club. We will meet at 3:00 p.m. in Room 100 of the Eagle’s Nest Activities Center. All residents of PebbleCreek, whether club members or not, are invited to attend. There is no charge.
Tom says, “Our pets are part of our families and as such we carry basic life support equipment on our fire trucks in case of those emergencies that involve our pets.” Firefighter Hofer will cover such topics as basic first aid, pet CPR and the importance of being prepared around the house and while outdoors with your pets. He will also demonstrate the equipment they carry and provide you with helpful literature regarding pet safety and first aid.
We have all read or heard of cases where pets have saved their owners’ lives. Here is a way to be ready to provide for their safety, if they need us to. Please join us for this very informative presentation and meet Firefighter/Paramedic Tom Hofer.
As always, a donation box will be available at the meeting for supplies such as: blankets (no sheets or pillowcases please), towels, crates, cages, pet food (check expiration date), pet toys, etc. Those items not used for our own PebbleCreek rescues will be donated to other local animal shelters. If you have any questions, please contact Jim or Marge Ellison at 623-935-6651.
