Susan Skolnik
Debby Bolton and Sylvia Armstrong were the instructors for two fiber clay workshops, a medium growing in popularity since it does not require a kiln, and the sculpted pieces are air dried. Classes cost $30, which includes all materials. The 12 students were asked to bring a reference picture for the sculpture they wished to create, the only stipulation being that the subject matter had to have two legs. Students learned the basics of working with fiber clay and finished with their own unique creation. These workshops take place in a fun, casual atmosphere and are always a big hit with members. Fiber clay is just one of many classes and workshops offered by the Art Club. To see more examples of the classes and workshops available, visit www.pcartclub.org.
