Early December saw about 20 members of Le Cercle Français celebrating Le Fête de Noel at the home of Deborah and Gaylen Legan. This is one of the club’s favorite events of the year! The Legans’ house was festively decorated with the colors and lights of the season including a seven foot electrified Eiffel Tower that greeted everyone by the front door. The Fête de Noel celebration included a gift exchange and a French carol sing-a-long which was led this year by Janine Drabier and accordion player, Rob Risden. Extra special this year was the traditional Yule log cake that was served for dessert. This cake, called the Buche de Noel, is a French specialty eaten only during the Christmas season.
Le Cercle Français is a recognized PebbleCreek club that welcomes French speakers who want to keep up or improve their skills in the language. For more information, please contact Deborah Legan at [email protected].
