Jonnie Chandler
Captain Jeremy Alan Chandler, a U.S. Army Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha-High Altitude Low Opening team leader (Green Beret), was killed in action on Aug. 11, 2005, while serving his third deployment in Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom). Jeremy’s parents, PebbleCreek residents Lieutenant Colonel Alan Chandler, U.S. Army retired, and Jonnie Chandler, established a memorial scholarship in their son’s honor at his alma mater, the University of North Georgia (UNG). To-date, twelve scholarship recipients have commissioned and are currently serving in the U.S. Army.
Al and Jonnie invite you to join them for a Charity Beer and Wine Tasting and Silent Auction on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Augie’s Sport Grill, located at 15605 W. Roosevelt St., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
One hundred percent of sales and funds raised benefit the Captain Jeremy Alan Chandler Leadership Scholarship at the UNG.
The scholarship endowment is held and managed by the UNG Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. You can send tax exempt donations, made payable to University of North Georgia Foundation, to P.O. Box 1599, Dahlonega, GA 30533. Be sure to note the “Jeremy Chandler Leadership Scholarship” on your donation.
Tickets for the fundraiser are $25 per person and may be purchased at the door of the event, at the PebbleCreek Senior Softball opening day ceremony, or by contacting Al or Jonnie Chandler at [email protected] orl 912-713-4357.
