Dr. Alan Hatfield, an oncologist who lives in PebbleCreek, will be speaking at the Breast Cancer Discussion Group meeting on Thursday, Feb. 24th at 10 a.m. in the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse. He trained in breast cancer treatment at the National Cancer Institute during the 1970s. He has been involved in cancer research and led a clinical cancer center in the Midwest for 25 years, followed by a pharmaceutical career registering new oncology drugs internationally for 17 years. He will share with us how far the management of breast cancer has come and also newly reported research on the treatment of postmenopausal women with newly diagnosed breast cancer.
If you have been diagnosed with breast cancer, are facing surgery, recovering from surgery, thinking about reconstruction, or just need to talk to others going through the same journey, please join us. We encourage those of you who have already gone through breast cancer treatment to attend too. You are instrumental in helping those who are just beginning their journey. Following the meeting, many of us go to lunch at Toscana’s Grill. It is a great opportunity to get to know each other better. Believe me, we have a great time!
A special gift may be waiting for you! It is important that we hear from any residents who have treatment pending, as we have a special pillow made by the PebbleCreek Quilters that we would like to give to them. The ladies who have used the pillows say they offer so much comfort immediately following surgery or reconstruction.
If you want to chat, receive a pillow, or get more information, call Judy Ayers at 623-536-1496 or email [email protected].
