Michele Madoski retired from teaching 4th grade five years ago and loves living in PebbleCreek (PC). She moved here from southern California with her boyfriend 2½ years ago. Michele visited a friend who lives in PC who took her on a tour of the Creative Arts Center. And that’s all it took; PebbleCreek was exactly what she was looking for. About the same time a neighbor in California was also looking in PC and moved here soon after she did. It is great to already have friends living in your new neighborhood. Michele says that a year now goes by as fast as a day used to pass. She does ceramics and pottery and showed her work in the Art Sale in November.
Michele began college studying art. She later decided she would like to teach school and finished her degree in liberal arts. Michele integrated art in social studies and science and found that art was a great way for students to express themselves.
Michele incorporates painting and ceramics techniques in her pieces. She approaches each project as an experiment. You don’t know exactly what it will look like until it’s finished. The process of creating ceramics pieces is so much fun. Michele says she’s in no hurry to complete any project. She just enjoys the process. One of her favorite pieces is a large blue vase where she used a wax resist technique.
Now that Michele has filled her house with wonderful ceramics pieces, she’s beginning to make pieces to decorate the exterior. Michele thinks the instructors are fabulous. The people in the club are a very friendly and helpful bunch. Michele finds humor in everything in life. What a great attitude to carry through life!
