Bari Cavallo invites our fine-feathered friends to her garden with a multi-story birdhouse. It joins some of her other colorful creations to bring a welcoming scene to her garden. Bari has lived full time in PebbleCreek since 2014. She has completed so many projects that her backyard, she says, is a menagerie. She loves colors and making exotic, unusual pieces. She’s just finished making a totem of many layers and is planting succulents in it. Her next project is a peacock.

Bari can often be found in the Creative Arts Building, Gecko Classroom, working on projects. Bari’s birdhouse totem was built one layer at a time. She finishes all the pieces individually, as well as spacers to go between each piece. Then she uses a lamp pole and threads each piece on the pole, one at a time. Bari has given away many pieces, and she has made something specific for others when they just buy the materials. Bari also does paintings with oil and, lately, watercolors.

Bari praised Sharon Pelikan as a fabulous teacher. In fact, all of our ceramics teachers are magnificent! Our certified teachers are Linda Galowitch and Kelli Frederickson.

Ceramic classes, as well as workshops, are offered using various techniques, paints, and glazes. We have also added sculpture classes. We always welcome new members to join in the fun with us. So, stop by the Gecko Classroom in the Creative Arts Building any time for a look-see.

Hours for classes are Monday and Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; call for Saturday times.
