The North American Bridge Championships were held in Las Vegas July, 17 to 27. Thousands of contract bridge players from countries around the world attended. The age of the players ranged from 9 to 103! The celebrities that attended included Warren Buffett and Bill Gates. They are both avid bridge players. The final tally of players at the end of 10 days was 16,615.5 tables. PebbleCreek was represented by a four woman team; Kathy Bergman, Sue Gainer, Doreen Marek and Pat Smith. The team competed over six days and earned 18 masterpoints. Kathy Bergman and Sue Gainer continued to play in the Gold Rush Pairs and finished with an impressive Third Overall ranking, earning an additional six masterpoints. Kathy Bergman and Pat Smith also earned their ACBL Teacher Accreditation during this national event.
