Bocce News: Spring League

Carolyn Rota

The spring bocce leagues began on March 30 and ended on May 21. These last two years, to say the least, were a challenge. But because of the cooperation of all you dedicated bocce players, and the tremendous work by the bocce board keeping everyone safe, we made it. Everyone deserves big congratulations. Let’s hope by the beginning of the 2021-22 seasons that everything will be back to normal.

Once again, the bocce league will be donating their prize money to U.S. veterans and the Agua Fria Food Bank.

In April, we held the bocce board elections. The Election Committee consisted of Carolyn Rota, Angela Petter, and Dennis Balint. As chairperson of this committee, I want to thank Angela and Dennis for all their time, effort, and hard work. Now for the names of your newly elected PebbleCreek Bocce Ball board members: vice president, Greg McGee; publicity, Jack Williams; and registrar, Susan Fallon. They will be taking over as of July 1. Congratulations to you all.

By the time you read this, the PebbleCreek Bocce Ball Association (PCBBA) will be on summer vacation, but you can always get all the latest updates and all the current precautions that the PCBBA must take, and the HOA requires, on the Quickscores site.

On a personal note, as you read this, my term as head of public relations will almost be up. I want to thank everyone who helped me during my tenure. You smiled for my photos, dressed in funny garb, and always offered to help. I truly appreciated it. I’m sure Jack will be wonderful at public relations and that you will be willing to help him as well. Stay safe and healthy, and I’ll see you on the courts.
