The PebbleCreek Billiards Club (PCBC) hosted the Buckeye Legends (BL) on May 20, and defended its home turf with a decisive 3-1 victory at the Salerno Billiards Room. Coming off a narrow win in their previous matchup, PCBC proved too strong for the visitors, claiming three of four matches and 33 individual games to the BL’s 22.

To accommodate differing team sizes, the clubs adopted a flexible singles “race-to” format. The first two matches were raced to eight in 8-ball, while the third switched to a race-to-ten in 10-ball. The fourth match returned to 8-ball.

PCBC jumped out to a strong start in the opener, winning 8-5. Rene Lefebvre led the way for the home side, going a perfect 3-0. BL responded in the second match with a hard-fought 8-7 victory, highlighted by Joe Frederico’s clutch 8-ball on the break. Dan Harris answered for PCBC with a flawless 3-0 performance of his own.

The teams shifted to 10-ball for the third match, where PCBC pulled away 10-5. Lynn Warren delivered a standout performance, winning all four of his games and sinking the 10-ball on a break shot. Teammate Mike Finnegan also sank the 10-ball on one of his break shots.

The fourth and final match returned to 8-ball, with PCBC closing out the day 8-4. Warren once again dominated, winning all four of his games.

PCBC’s Lynn Warren and Dan Harris topped all players, each winning 12 of 16 games that afternoon. BL’s Joe Frederico led the way for his team with seven wins in 12 games.

Beyond the scores, the afternoon was defined by sharp shooting, good-natured ribbing, and exemplary sportsmanship from both clubs. The rematch is already on the calendar for next month, and after today’s competitive showcase, fans on both sides can expect another exciting battle.
