The PebbleCreek Art Club met on May 21 at Sunrise Park for its first in-person meeting since being confined to virtual meetings due to COVID. The weather was cooperative, and a light brunch of pastries and juice was served. Members were able to reconnect with current members and meet some of the new ones while enjoying what will most likely be one of the last mild days for a few months to come.

The club does not meet during the summer months, but regular meetings will resume in September.

President Sylvia Armstrong announced the date for the club’s Fall Art Show and also revealed the theme for this year’s Special Challenge, a highly anticipated feature of each show. Each member is allowed to enter one piece of art using the theme for the year. This year’s Special Challenge theme is Wild Thing, You Make My Heart Sing. This could be a place, a person, an object, animal, or almost anything that the artist feels meets the intent of the theme.

Members were also able to sign up for the upcoming field trip to the Cowgirl Up exhibit at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg on June 10. The exhibit features the work of 60 female Western artists.
