Carole Schumacher
On November 1, 2016 PCMGA member Ken Schumacher had a hole-in-one on hole No. 12 of Eagle’s Nest. He was playing with eight neighbor guys from Unit 43-A including Doug Ginter and Loren Norgaard along with Glenn Breen, another PC resident. Using his nine-iron on this par 3, his shot was 137 yards. The flag was behind a swale and not visible from the tee box. Ken’s friends playing ahead of his foursome just happened to stop to watch the tee shot before they headed to hole No. 13 and saw the ball hit the green and roll into the hole. When Ken saw Jim Sheard and Dick Ruder jumping up and down he knew he had aced it. Doug Ginter has had one hole-in-one and now has witnessed two other hole-in-ones. “Ken’s was the purest,” said Ginter.
Ken and his wife Carole moved to PebbleCreek as permanent residents on the Tuscany side in January of this year from Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Ken’s been hitting golf balls for more than 35 years and this is his first ace. He hit the same ball on No. 13 and it went in the water, but he luckily retrieved it and stuck it in his golf bag for historical reference. Congratulations, Ken!
