A Bounty of Baby Hats

Karen Harper and Laurel Vlcek present baby hats to volunteer Ken Beechler.

The knitters and crocheters of PebbleCreek were busy during 2021. Members of Knimble Kneedles, PebbleCreek’s knit and crochet club, make hats for newborns at Estrella Banner Hospital. Ken Beechler, a hospital volunteer and PebbleCreek resident, picks up the hats and delivers them to the hospital. In the past, we have averaged about 2,000 hats each year. In 2021, however, Knimble Kneedles donated 4,065 hats to the hospital!

Knimble Kneedles also donates lap afghans and fidget sleeves to area nursing facilities, and afghans and other items to local service agencies. If you like to knit and crochet, come join us from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursdays in the Diamondback Room of the Creative Arts Center. Enjoy the conversation while you work on your own projects or an item for charity.
