The PebbleCreek Pickleball Club has an exciting new logo from the mind of John Meyers.
John described the creative process that went into the design that was written on Inkscape, a vector drawing program.
“I was trying to think of what people in PebbleCreek would relate to. What is it they think of when they picture PebbleCreek. On the internet I found a picture of PebbleCreek that Robson had put up for advertising. It showed the White Tank Mountains in the background, some homes and palm trees. I also thought of Clubhouse Drive with the palm trees lining the street and again the White Tank Mountains. So I tried to come up with a design that people would think, ‘Yes, I live there.’”
John said he periodically shared the design with his wife Theresa who gave him constructive criticism, which she calls feedback.
John has been playing pickleball for just over a year. “I took Art House’s beginner class and the other classes (skills and drills) that are offered by the club. I thank all those instructors who gave of themselves. I hope that one day to be good enough to help others learn to play.”
John plays a couple of times a week and is on the Gentlemen’s Ladder. “The ladder gives me the opportunity to find out what level of player I am.” John also commented that, “Theresa loves to play and plays often with a group she calls ‘The Fun Girls.’”
“I think the thing that both Theresa and I like the most is the laughter on and around the courts.”
“Six logos made the cut from 30 that were entered,” said the contest originator, Club Secretary Jules Cardinale. Then members voted on the club’s website and John’s was the winner. “I thank my committee for the long hours they put in on this project,” commented an always smiling Jules.
The unveiling of the logo took place in front of 582 PC Pickleball Club members and their guests during the annual club Dinner-Concert and dance on the back patio of the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse on October 25.
