The cast and crew of Where Legends Began can’t wait to see you in the audience. Their legendary six night run begins Monday, November 16.

“Where Legends Began”: Got Tickets?

Laurie Farquhar

Music lovers, be sure to get your tickets for ShowTime’s upcoming production, Where Legends Began. This original musical revue will take you back in time to hear some of today’s most famous singers and musicians during their early years. And the one thing these artists all have in common is The Bitter End.

What is The Bitter End? It’s New York City’s iconic coffee house-turned-rock venue that jump-started the careers of so many of your favorite singers, from Peter, Paul and Mary to Linda Ronstadt to Bruce Springsteen. But it wasn’t just singers and musicians that performed there. Comedians such as George Carlin and Rita Rudner also polished their routines at The Bitter End.

Where Legends Began follows the history of this amazing place from its opening in 1961 to today. Director Dave Silverstein has included lots of fun stories about some of the most famous performers who played at The Bitter End. Find out how Peter, Paul and Mary started playing together; and who was only 14 years old when she first performed there. It’s a trivia lover’s dream.

Where Legends Began runs six nights from Monday, Nov. 16 through Saturday, Nov. 21. Tickets have been on sale for the past few weeks but there are still good seats available. Just go online to pebblecreekhoa.org. Click on “Things to Do” and then “Ticket Sales.” All seats are only $20 and that includes the service fees. VISA and MasterCard are accepted.

If you need help with your purchase, please contact JoAnn Smyth at 623–466-8471 and she will be happy to help you over the phone.

Come travel down memory lane as ShowTime explores the history of music and performers who began their careers at The Bitter End. For 65 years, this legendary landmark has shaped the contemporary music scene and Where Legends Began is just a taste of what has been produced there over the decades.

Venture down “Ventura Highway” and “Dream A Little Dream” of some of your favorite songs “Because the Night” is a reminder that music can fill a “Hungry Heart.”
