The Agua Fria High School District is turning community priorities into opportunities for students and the Southwest Valley.
As the region has grown, the District has listened to students, families, businesses, and community members about what they want from their public schools: stronger connections between education and the workforce, expanded opportunities for students, and investments that strengthen the community. Today, that vision is becoming a reality.
You Asked for Workforce Development. We Delivered.
Through the Academies of the Southwest, students connect with career pathways, industry partners, and real-world learning. The District’s commitment to guaranteed experiences brings learning beyond the classroom through opportunities such as internships, capstone projects, college and career training visits, career expos, and more.
“When our students succeed, our entire community benefits,” said Superintendent Mark Yslas. “We are preparing students with the skills, confidence and opportunities to build their futures right here in the Southwest Valley.”
You Asked for Arts and Culture. We Delivered.
The Hilltop Theatre and Concert Hall at The Hilltop School for the Arts is a new destination for professional entertainment, student learning and community gatherings in the Southwest Valley.
The state-of-the-art venue provides space for student performances and hands-on learning alongside artists and industry professionals. Through Hilltop’s “Artistry to Industry” approach, students connect their creative interests to real-world experiences and future careers. Developed in partnership with the City of Litchfield Park, the venue will also host professional performances, community programming, and special events.
“We heard our community’s desire for more arts and culture in the Southwest Valley, and our District delivered,” Yslas said. “The Hilltop Theatre and Concert Hall creates opportunities for students to learn alongside professionals while giving our community a place to come together and experience the arts close to home.”
A Commitment to the Southwest Valley
Together, these investments reflect a larger commitment: listening to the community and turning its priorities into meaningful opportunities. We thank our voters for their continued support of bonds, overrides, and propositions, which helps make these opportunities possible. With the support of families, voters, businesses, and local partners, the District is creating opportunities that will serve students and the Southwest Valley for generations.
