Democratic Club President Vicki Barber with Attorney General Kris Mayes
J. Kirk Brown
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes will be the featured speaker at the Sept. 2 meeting of the PebbleCreek Democratic Club. That meeting is at 6:30 p.m. at the Tuscany Falls Ballroom.
Kris Mayes has been the Arizona Attorney General since 2023. As Attorney General, Kris Mayes has prioritized protecting Arizona consumers, stopping scammers, fighting the Fentanyl crisis and the Mexican drug cartels, and combatting elder abuse and fraud. She has fiercely gone after corporations and monopolies unfairly and illegally raising prices for Arizona citizens. She has been a fighter for Arizona’s groundwater protections.
Attorney General Mayes has also filed or joined in nearly 50 lawsuits against the Trump administration. She has challenged Presidential tariffs, Trump-initiated freezes or withholding of federal funds intended by Congress to benefit the State of Arizona and its citizens, attempts to limit birthright citizenship, and immigration enforcement actions and facilities.
Attorney General Mayes was previously a Professor at Arizona State University’s (ASU) School of Global Sustainability and taught energy law for the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. She was previously the Chair of the Arizona Corporation Commission and a journalist. Mayes was raised in Prescott, attended public schools there, holds a degree in political science and journalism from ASU, a Masters of Public Administration from Columbia University, and a law degree from ASU.
This is one of the PebbleCreek Democratic Club’s premier programs of the year, and we expect a full house. Come early, enjoy the opportunity to visit with friends and neighbors, and hear firsthand from Arizona’s Attorney General about the issues that matter most to our state.
