The red, white, and blue were on full display at the July Wine Club Dinner. Our members did not disappoint, wearing all sorts of patriotic gear and displaying “Proud to Be an American” vibes. Maverick Beverage Company representative Christina Arellano gave a presentation about Washington State wines, and the dinner featured five different varietals.
A sparkling Rosé was the wine of choice to greet our guests before dinner. The All-American Buffet served wonderful cold salads, smoked tri-tip beef, BBQ chicken legs, baked beans, succotash, and cornbread, and was complimented with Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet, and Syrah wines. The desserts of shortcakes, lemon meringue pie, and chocolate couldn’t get any better.
Once everyone had their fill, DJ Hank Tokarz gave a musical salute and recognition to all the wine club attendees who served in the Armed Forces. We were honored to thank each one. The evening continued with Hank’s music and members dancing.
The Wine Club continues throughout the summer. August brings an Italian inspired menu and wine pairings. September is the return of member favorite, Caymus Winery. Sign up for that dinner is Aug. 21 to 31. Going into fall, October is the club’s very fun Halloween party. Remember to bring your own glass—there will be a plethora of wines to choose from. Sign up for that party from Sept. 18 to 28.
