From Goodyear to Park City, Utah, to the Mediterranean, PebbleCreek Italian American Club, (PCIAC) members cheered on the 250th birthday of our nation.
Here at home, the Minichiellos and Garretts were in full red, white, and blue regalia, along with a crowd of other friends from our community, to honor the Founding Fathers’ vision in creating a nation “of the people, by the people, for the people,” famously used by Abraham Lincoln in his Gettysburg Address.
Cynthia and Mike Swartz literally “lit it up” in celebration of “the great experiment,” doing their best to rival fireworks set off from around the nation. Good try, Mike!
Kay Skripka and Bob Marchese trekked their way to Park City, Utah, marking the day with an exhilarating 60 seconds bobsled ride at 71 MPH at Olympic Village and later viewing the annual parade down Main Street.
Capping off the day’s celebration were Denis and Laurie Biagini cruising the Mediterranean, sailing in view of the active volcano, Mt. Etna in Sicily, as it spewed its own array of fireworks. What great timing! Really, in all good humor, do Italians know how to do it up right, or what?
