Republican Club Meeting Features Statewide Candidates and Patriotic Celebration Plans

Suzanne Alliano-Rossick

The Republican Club welcomed a packed room of club members, elected officials, veterans, candidates, and guests for an evening centered on faith, civic engagement, upcoming patriotic events, and Arizona’s political future.

The meeting opened with a National Day of Prayer message and prayer for the nation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Club leaders welcomed local officials, community leaders, and guests from neighboring Republican organizations.

Several upcoming events were announced, including a congressional roundtable on May 23 featuring Congressman Paul Gosar, Congressman Eli Crane, Congressman Abe Hamadeh, and Tennessee Congressman Tim Burchett. The club also promoted its July 3 “Big, Beautiful Birthday Party,” a patriotic celebration of America’s 250th anniversary featuring games, food, music, and family activities. Members were encouraged to wear colonial attire for the event.

The club highlighted its continued partnership with Honor Flight Arizona, which sends veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit military memorials. This year, the club will sponsor two veterans through fundraising efforts and an anonymous donor.

Our first speaker was Gina Swoboda, candidate for Arizona Secretary of State, who spoke passionately about election integrity and her firsthand experience working in election operations during the 2020, 2022, and 2024 election cycles. She discussed concerns regarding election procedures, ballot-on-demand printer failures in Maricopa County, voter roll maintenance, observer access, and the need for transparency, security, and local control in Arizona elections. Her detailed remarks and answers to audience questions drew strong engagement.

Our second speaker, Arizona Treasurer candidate Elijah Norton, also addressed the audience, focusing on financial management, government accountability, and conservative economic stewardship. Norton shared his background as a businessman and discussed his experience as Arizona Republican Party Treasurer, where he helped stabilize finances and support Republican victories. He emphasized the importance of improving investment returns on Arizona’s state assets, opposing ESG and DEI investment policies, supporting school choice, and conducting stronger audits of government spending.

The evening concluded with audience questions, member conversations, and appreciation for the volunteers who helped organize the event. President Moore encouraged attendees to remain active, support conservative candidates, and stay engaged as Arizona heads into a critical election season.
