Howie Tiger

Part 2

Mark Blore and Carey Weedman survived a marathon playoff to become the overall winners of the 2026 PebbleCreek Men’s Golf Association (PCMGA) 29th annual Member/Guest tournament. Please see PCMGA Member-Guest Part 1 for initial details.

Using an alternate shot format, the three flight-winning teams in each division competed in a two-hole shootout on the front nine of the West course to determine the division winner.

Division Winners

A: Mark Blore/Carey Weedman, B: Kurt Fischer/Jeffrey Fischer, C: Tom Hume/Keegan Schunke, D: Russ Aldridge/Kevin Aldridge, E: Gene Breuning/Chris Rittgers, F: Ray Catalano/Mike Mehrer.

The division winners then advanced to the finals to compete in a three-hole shootout on the 9th hole (West course) to determine the overall winner.

The 9th green was surrounded by spectators anxious to see the division winners compete in the pressure packed finals.

The first hole of the finals played as a par 4 from the blue tee. Two teams would be eliminated. One player from each team teed off, then alternated with their partner until they holed out. All teams except the Blore team received a handicap shot. The Breuning team scored a net 3 and four teams scored a 4/net 4.The Catalano team scored a net 5 and was eliminated. That left 4 teams to chip-off to determine which team would also be eliminated. The Hume team lost the chip-off and were eliminated.

The second hole of the finals was played from a distance of 150 yards. Two more teams would be eliminated. Both the Blore team and the Fischer team scored a 4. The Aldridge team and the Bruening team both scored a 5 and were eliminated.

So, the Blore team and the Fischer team played the third hole of the finals, this time from 80 yards. Both teams tied with 3s in quite different ways. The Blore team putted close from 30 feet and the Fischer team chipped close.

(Note: Three different pin placements were available in case of an extended playoff).

Since they tied, they returned to the 80-yard tee for a second time. Both teams two-putted from 25+ feet and again tied with 3s!

They returned to the 80-yard tee for a third time. The Blore team 2-putted from 15 feet and the Fischer team 2-putted from 40 feet and again tied with 3s.

They returned to the 80-yard tee for a fourth time. The Blore team made a 2 from 7 feet and the Fischer team also made a 2 from only 2 ½ feet.

The crowd was quite anxious at this point thinking this playoff may never end!

So they returned to the 80-yard tee for a fifth time. Both teams hit their tee shot close, but only the Blore team made the putt for the win. The crowd went wild with excitement!

Congratulations to all the flight winners and division winners, and especially Mark and Carey!

Many thanks to our golf professionals, general manager, pro shop staff, and outside services staff!
