Tom Hume’s hole-in-one helped him and his partner win their tourney flight.

Tom Hume Makes a Hole-in-One During PCMGA Member-Member Tourney

On Thursday, April 2nd, Tom Hume made a hole-in-one on the 13th hole of Tuscany Falls East Golf Course. He made it while playing in the PebbleCreek Men’s Golf Association (PCMGA) Member-Member tournament. As such, Tom now qualifies for the PCMGA annual hole-in-one prize. He joins four others and it’s only been a little over 3 months into 2026!

The 13th hole was playing 109 yards from the white tee to a front pin-placement. Tom’s playing partners included his member-member partner Kelly Schunke as well as “tournament opponents,” Gerry Schmelzer and Barry Wells. Tom hit his pitching wedge with a high trajectory straight at the flagstick. Kelly excitedly said, “I think it went in!” Tom was not yet sure. As the group arrived at the green, they only saw one ball on the green, believed to be Barry’s shot. Tom checked the hole and voila, an ace! The celebration began. Lots of excitement, but clearly, Barry and Gerry were not quite as excited as Tom and Kelly!

This was Tom’s third career hole-in-one. His first one came on this same hole back in 2019. His second ace came on the 8th hole on Eagles Nest in 2023.

Tom was born and raised in Seattle, Wash. He and his family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1967. After high school graduation, Tom worked in retail for several years which is where he met his wife, Sharon. At age 24, he joined the Anchorage Police Force. That is where he met his long-time friends, Kelly and Pam Schunke. Tom served on the police force for 20 years and retired in 2000.

He and Sharon moved to PebbleCreek in 2001.

Congrats on your awesome shot! As an added bonus, that ace also helped Tom and Kelly to win their flight in the tourney!

Marc Goldberg retrieves his latest hole-in-one golf ball, wearing flip-flops of course!

Marc Goldberg Makes His Fourth Ace at Eagle’s Nest

Howie Tiger

On Friday, March 13, Marc Goldberg made a hole-in-one on the 8th hole at Eagles Nest Golf Course. He made it while playing in his regular golf group, The Bogey Boyz. So, “Friday the 13th” is not always an unlucky day!

The 8th hole was playing 128 yards from the white tee to a middle pin-placement. Marc hit his 9-iron with a high trajectory straight at the flagstick. His ball bounced once and rolled right into the hole. He and his playing partners, Bill McKinney, Rich Conner, and Ed Webb all saw the ball go in. Marc was anxious to celebrate and said, “Let’s go in and drink!” His partners said, ”Wait a minute, we need to finish the round.” So, they did finish the round.

This was Marc’s fourth career hole-in-one. His most recent ace was on the 8th hole of Tuscany Falls East in April of 2024. On both of these occasions, Marc was wearing soft-spike golf flip flops! He speculates that he may be the first and only male resident to make an ace while wearing soft-spike golf flip-flops!

He got his start in golf in 1989 in Bermuda at Castle Harbor Golf Course while on vacation. His first ace happened only a year later at the Lyman Meadows Golf Club in Middlefield, Conn. His second ace came at Mt. Snow Country Club in Vermont in 1993.

In each of his previous holes-in-one, they occurred while playing in an event where drinks were already included. So he saved a bundle! In this instance, a Bogey Boys pizza party with drinks was already scheduled for that evening at Ray and Alice Lewis’ home. Knowing this, Marc was quick to offer the Bogey Boys drinks on him the following Monday, their next scheduled golf game. He made good on his promise at the Tavern!

Marc was born and raised in Woodmont, Conn., in a house just across the street from Long Island Sound. So his first baby shoes were probably flip-flops! He graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a business degree in Marketing. He spent his entire 33-year working career as an Independent Manufacturers Representative in the Architectural Glass industry. He serviced Upstate New York and all of New England. He was a member of the National Glass Association. He retired in 2004. He is a lifelong New York Giants and New York Yankees fan, holding Giants season tickets for 38 years.

This fourth ace now makes him one up on his “very significant other, Mary Harris. He and Mary have been PebbleCreek residents since 2002.

Congrats on your awesome shot!
