The desert sun was shining brightly over the Tuscany Falls East Course recently as the PebbleCreek Men’s 9-Hole Golf Association (PCM9GA) hosted its highly anticipated Member Guest Charity Tournament. While the competition on the golf course was fierce, the true winner of the two-day event was the Luke Air Force Base Spouses Club.
A Community Effort
The success of the event was bolstered by a massive showing of local support. Over 30 Platinum, Gold, and Silver sponsors stepped up to ensure the tournament’s logistics were seamless, covering everything from tee box signage to the smooth operation of the course.
This event would not have been successful without the sponsor’s generosity and commitment to the PebbleCreek Community. Please patronize these sponsors (see following list) whenever possible.
The golfer’s spirit of giving was most evident at the tournament’s silent auction. With over 40 prizes up for grabs—ranging from golf packages to local dining experiences. When the tournament was completed the event had raised over $20,000 for Luke’s Spouses Club.
PCM9GA Club President John Craven said that “even though weather conditions were hot during the rounds of golf, the event was a huge success for club members, their guests and Luke.”
Action on the East Course
The Tuscany Falls East Course provided a challenging yet scenic backdrop for the 140+ golfers in attendance. The two-day format allowed members to showcase their home-course advantage while introducing guests to the fairways and tough greens that define the PebbleCreek golf experience. Despite the pressure of the tournament, the atmosphere remained jovial. The
“9-holers” are known for their camaraderie, and this event was no exception. Whether it was a perfectly placed chip or a missed putt that “definitely should have broken left,” the spirit of sportsmanship was on full display.
Club member Randy Grauerholz shared that it was an excellent tournament and he particularly enjoyed the par three “hole–in–one” challenge. Jerry Dileonardo, who shot three birdies on the front nine holes during day one of the tournament, expressed that the course played fairly and he enjoyed the two day format. Finally, Mark Eichkorn said that it was a great two day tournament and he and others felt good about raising money for Luke.
Celebration at the Clubhouse
Following the final round of golf on Friday, the festivities moved from the fairways to the Tuscany Falls Ballroom where club members and guests gathered for an Italian buffet dinner. The evening concluded with the recognition of tournament winners for each of the four golf flights and event sponsors. For the members of the PCM9GA, the event was a resounding success—proving once again that in PebbleCreek, golf is about much more than just a game; it’s about community, gratitude, and a drive to make a difference.
