PebbleCreek Senior Softball Recognizes One of Its Finest

Every once in a while an individual comes along who makes you stop and wonder, “Who is this person?” Well, this person is Lee Ayers. At the ripe age of 91, Lee has been associated with the PebbleCreek Senior Softball Association (PCSSA) since 1999.

Let’s step back in time to see who Lee was in his earlier years. To start with, Lee is a Lefty also known as a “southpaw,” which means that he is in his right mind.

History:

1948: Pitched for Edmonds Highschool in Edmonds, Wash.

1952-1953: Attended Georgetown University preparing for a Navy career and played football for Georgetown. A major neck injury ended football and he returned to Washington.

1951-1960: Lee served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. His father was a two-star Navy Admiral.

1956: Received a B.A. degree in Education from Western Washington University.

1964: Received a M.S. degree in Secondary Education from the University of Washington and became a principal in the Highline School District in Seattle for 16 years.

1967: Lee was contacted by Jim Owens (head football coach) at the University of Washington to do some scouting of players in the state of Washington.

1977-1999: Lee shared in the success of the University of Washington Football Program that included six Rose Bowls as well as Cotton and Orange Bowls and other bowls.

1999: Lee and his better two-thirds (Judy) arrive at PebbleCreek where he was immediately recruited for PCSSA softball.

2026: Lee is presented with a jacket that recognizes his 27 years of dedication to the PebbleCreek Senior Softball Association.
