Billiards Club President’s Message

Blair Dreyfus

Well, we had a nice run going and then, just like life, KABLAM, the wheels fall off. I guess it isn’t that badbut starting in November we will be using another reservation system because the one we were using went byebye. Of course, by the time you read this, the problem will have been rectified and the new system will be up and running thanks to our club secretary’s hard work. Thanks Jim Padgitt!

I hope everyone has noticed that the condition of our tables this year has been excellent! That is because of the hard work and diligence of our club member cleaning crew who has been at it for some 18 months now. The members on that crew are Harold Erker, Mark Kuhn, Dan Ryan, Jim Padgitt, Rene Lefebvre, Joe Armbruster, and Marv Schrock. So, if you bump into one of these guys please tell them thank you for helping maintain the tables to the level we have all grown to expect. Eighteen months is a long time, and several of the guys took it upon themselves to find a replacement for themselves and I found replacements for some of the others. I say, some, because Dan, Jim, and Harold said they would continue doing it for a little longer and that means that, as of Oct. 1, Lou Drinovsky, Lynn Warren, Jim Sykes, and Don Moser have joined the team. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to help out.

Thank you Ed Marasco for giving us an excellent process to follow. If anyone has a table at home and would like to use the same procedure to keep their table in tip-top shape, there is a printed sheet in the top drawer of the cabinet along the north wall of the pool room. Feel free to grab a copy and give it a try.

Our Ladies Division has continued to grow and they are starting to get serious and are asking for a few tips from a couple of the men. It’s so nice to see their growth as the competitive nature in all just doesn’t go away with age. That said, the ladies are hosting a group of women from CantaMia at the end of October so you can read all about how they fared in next month’s issue of the Post. Go PC Ladies!

Here are the results of the men’s tournaments held in September.
