Breast Cancer Group Meets for Breakfast

Jennifer Smith, Facilitator

The PebbleCreek Breast Cancer Discussion Group will be meeting for its last summer breakfast on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 9 a.m. at the Eagle’s Nest Restaurant. In lieu of regular meetings during the summer months, we have found getting together for breakfast has been a great way to come together and catch up. It has been wonderful connecting with new members. We will resume meeting in our typical space at the Tuscany Falls clubhouse at 10 a.m. on the fourth Thursday of September. Dr. Shilt, retired oncologist, and his wife Kitty will return to our meetings during the fall and winter months. We are also planning events and speakers for the fall, so please come to share your ideas.

Join us for breakfast if you are facing surgery, recovering from surgery, thinking about reconstruction, or just need a group to talk to about your cancer journey. We have a lot of cancer survivors in the group and we want you to know that we are here for you. This is also a great opportunity to learn from others who are going through breast cancer. We share many laughs, as laughter is an important part of healing. We feel fortunate we are able to gather in the summer months. It is also important to know that our support group is confidential and is a safe place to share.

Also, a special gift may be waiting for you! Please reach out if you, or you know another resident who has treatment pending. We have a special pillow, made by the PebbleCreek Sewing Club, that we would like to give you. The pillows provide comfort following surgery or reconstruction. If you want to chat, receive a pillow, or get more information, don’t hesitate to call facilitator Jennifer Smith.

Please RSVP to Jennifer Smith at 602-618-1203 or [email protected] before our breakfast get-together on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 9 a.m. at the Eagle’s Nest Restaurant. We hope to see you there!
