Quilter of the Month: Jackie Cameron

Jackie Cameron’s quilting creations on display in the Creative Arts Center in June

Jackie Cameron was the highlighted quilter of the month for June in the Creative Arts Center showcase. She moved to PebbleCreek in 2016, but has resided in Arizona since 1997. Before Arizona, Jackie lived in upstate New York and New England. After retiring, she started quilting in earnest when she joined the PebbleCreek Quilters (PCQ) in 2018. Her Gran taught her to sew as a little girl. Jackie has sewn lots of clothes and home decor items, even draperies. Her mother, who never sewed, was an art teacher. So color, composition, design, and precision were ingrained into her and her five siblings. Quilting, for her, combines all that her mother and grandmother taught her. She loves math and details, which are all used in quilting. The friendships that she has formed with quilt club members are very rewarding. Everyone is so giving of their time and talent. Jackie plans to be a long-term member of PCQ.
