The Tennis Club welcomed back the snowbird big babies with our kick off non tennis, tennis social on September 20. It was a big success with 45 members attending, having tennis buddies return to PebbleCreek and join in as we welcome our members back. Snacks and refreshments were just right for a late afternoon social at Eagle’s Nest patio. Our next social, scheduled for October 18, Oktoberfest.
Our Christmas party on Friday, December 19 promises to be another great party this year at the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. Complete with Tommy Holloway entertainment, dancing, cocktails and a great catered dinner. More information will be on the Tennis Club website and soon you will be able to sign up; more details on the website coming soon.
Our two new courts, 16 and 17, are progressing well. Post tension slabs have been cured, the fences are up and the light poles have been installed. As of this writing the painting of the court surfaces are being done as well as the sidewalk reconstruction and pouring of concrete. We are anticipating the courts to be ready soon; however, no completion date has been given yet.
Our new website is a great success with many positive comments by members. The new website is easy to use, sign up for events is simple to do and many articles and information are posted. It is always changing and continues to be updated. Check it out with the picture gallery; it is fun to look and you may see yourself posted!
League play has started in October and some team matches have begun! We have five PebbleCreek women’s leagues: The Roadrunners, The Racquets, The Peppers, The Stingers and The Ace Girls. We have three men’s leagues: The Beer Nuts, The Top Guns and The PebbleCreek One.
Men’s drop in is at Eagle’s Nest courts on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. For more information contact Ken Minichiello at 419-356-4010. Nonmembers are welcome. Ladies drop in is at Eagle’s Nest courts every Wednesday, courts 3 and 4 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. For more information contact Rana Cukierski at 630-290-2514. Nonmembers are welcome. Just bring your gear and play! Mixed Doubles is Thursday nights at 6:45 p.m. on Tuscany Courts along with the Comfort Court. Email Bernadine Helriegel at [email protected] before Tuesday noon if you want to play each week and specify which group. Nonmembers are welcome.
Tennis Club meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at Tuscany Tennis Center. Jerry Santy is our club president and can be contacted at 623-271-7996 for any questions or issues.
Tennis Club membership is $30 a year which includes league play, use of ball machine and participation in club socials. Social membership is $15 per year.
