90 Years Young and 25 a Creeker

Jim Reynolds

Jim Reynolds celebrated his 90th birthday at his PebbleCreek home with wife, Carol; their children from Seattle and Steamboat Springs; grandchildren; and many friends. The celebration continued with attendance at Ballet Arizona’s Nutcracker; a dinner in Tuscany’s board room, including a USAF Honor Guard presentation; and a Sunday celebration with the congregation of PebbleCreek Community Church.

Jim and Carol came to PebbleCreek from Seattle in 1997, when Jim retired from the Boeing Company. Having met in 1948 in the suburbs of Buffalo, N.Y., Jim and Carol both attended the University of Ohio. Upon graduation in 1955, they were married, and Jim then served in the United States Air Force, and they lived on air force bases in Canada. Jim was honorably discharged as a captain in 1967. Then it was on to law school at the University of Washington, then private practice of law, and ultimately a career with Boeing. Among other positions at Boeing, Jim served as supervisor in Legal Services, and vice president/general manager of Indonesian Operations for Boeing Support Services International.

Jim and Carol celebrated their 50th anniversary in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom with a large gathering of friends and family on Feb. 12, 2005. They both continue to take advantage of the many amenities and activities within the PebbleCreek community. In past years, Jim has been chair of our HOA Facilities Committee, a member of our Rules and Finance Committees, a charter member and treasurer of the Democratic Club, and president of Kare Bears. He has also served in numerous positions within our PebbleCreek Community Church, including as an elder, deacon, trustee, and secretary of the Elder Board.

May there be many more years of active duty within this wonderful community that we all enjoy. Did we mention that Jim was also an Eagle Scout? What a great start for a life and career focused on giving back. Although, he says he never made pineapple upside-down cake for Carol in a Dutch oven over a campfire.
