Over 16 years ago in PebbleCreek, there was a small group of women who decided to go to lunch once a month and explore different restaurants in the Phoenix area. With the influx of new residents (I’ve been here since May 5, 1999) the numbers grew too large for restaurants to accommodate more than about 20 people and the logistics were getting involved. Jo Shaffers started the first Lunch Bunch group and was instrumental in beginning many more groups over the past several years. I was part of the very first expansion of this group and we became known as Lunch Bunch II in January 2000. The Post has had previous coverage of the annual Lunch Bunch celebrations.
Lunch Bunch II women have been faithfully dining every month for 15 years. We had our 15 Year Celebration at Vivo Ristorante in Scottsdale April 23, 2015, and had 11 of 17 women in our Lunch Bunch attend.
