The 14th Annual PebbleCreek Irish American Charity Golf Tournament, held March 12, was the most successful revenue-producing tournament to date! Due to its record-breaking success, this year we were able to increase our scholarships to Millennium High School students from six to eight deserving students. Each of the eight deserving students received a $2,000 scholarship, presented at our April 11 meeting. In addition to the scholarships, our Charitable Contributions Committee is hard at work finalizing the local charities, and they will be featured in a future issue of the PebbleCreek Post.
It takes many volunteers to make this event such a success. Starting with the top, a big thank you to the countless hours of hard work by our Chair and Co-Chair, Rick Savage and Ron Wanless. They, along with a large team of volunteers, helped make this year’s event successful. A big thank you also to the many sponsors who support this event and our club’s mission to support our community through charitable giving. The sponsors will also be featured in a future article.
Participants had fun with a variety of hole contests, best “Wearing of the Green” and new this year, a live auction during lunch. There were many fun and unique items auctioned off, including community activities such as “lunch with the mayor” and “dinner at the Goodyear firehouse”. The day was filled with fun, charity, and a little bit of Irish culture, which is what the Irish American Club is all about!
