The PebbleCreek Republican Club welcomed members and invited guests to the Thursday, February 7 meeting in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. Social time began at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting started at 7:00 p.m. A complimentary snack table in the ballroom was provided through members’ dues.

The changes to the PCRC Board were announced: Sue Harrison, Vice President; Doug Krause, Treasurer; Rosalie Frankel, Recording Secretary; Kurt Junge, Membership Chairman and Christina Junge, Social Chairman.

Members were reminded that Johnny Cavallo is chairing a Republican Club Men’s Breakfast starting February 12 at Eagle’s Nest at 8:30 a.m. It will be the second Tuesday of the month and you are invited to attend for lively morning conversations. Speaker for the meeting was Chuck Byers, Congressional Liaison for the VA and Military Affairs for Congresswoman Debbie Lesko in AZ08. He was inducted into the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame last October.

Chuck served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1972 and as a combat medic in Vietnam from July 1967 to June 1968. After being wounded, he continued his service by entering the Walter Reed Army Nursing Program. He is the recipient of the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He also serves at the 2nd Vice President for the State Council of Arizona Vietnam Veterans of America.

A lively Q & A period followed the presentation with many discussions initiated from the floor from the large assembly of members and guests.
