February charity sew in the Diamondback room

Pam Branfuhr

This day was beyond amazing; from the number of ladies (33) who showed up to help anyway they could, to the number of quilts finished or in various stages of completion to the fun that Donna Aybar provided to fuel the sewers to the paying it forward atmosphere.

The following ladies are angels in my book: Karen Rubsam, Jane Stalnker, Jan Johson, Joann Stansell, Heidi Johnson, Mary Hill, Liz Gray, Jean Fry, Kathy Brown, Nancy Treece, Jackie Droncheff, Joann Kraatz, Helen Phillips, Peggy Fegler, Carol Vandervort, Paula Lund, Carolyn Ryder, Donna Cousino, Marlene Kuskie, Chris Booth, Linda Shaver, Ila Larsen, Esther West, Maureen Puglsey, Rosemary Stoker, Millissa Masters, Pam Murphy, Kathleen OConnell, Cheryl Loney, Linda Publicover and Erma Taylor. The production today was beyond our wildest expectations. Seven completed quilts, 12 were taken home to complete, 10 are ready to be quilted and two tops were done. Thirty-one projects taken on today. We ran out of batting. We ran out of room in the room and ended up cutting batting in the hall. Donna and I loved the feeling in the room today. There were newbies, long timers and visitors. Help on every level; ironing, cutting, quilting on the longarm, helping with design. Donna and I just gently guided and everyone created with abandon.

Thank you, everyone, for the wonderful day.
