Zzz … All Quiet at the Ballfield

Fred Dresser

It’s now September and that means only one thing, it’s going to be pretty quiet at the ballfield after over 90 games were played during the fall/winter season that started in October 2021, plus the spring season and the pickup games that ended on Aug. 13.

Preparing the field for the upcoming 28th season of the PebbleCreek Senior Softball Association (PCSSA) started Aug. 18, and will continue through the month of September and into the first part of October. The 28th season is scheduled to start on Oct. 22. Twenty-eight years of softball at the Robson Field of Dreams!

The PCSSA started with just two teams and 21 players way back in 1995 and has now grown to 240-plus players. Registrations for the upcoming season closed Aug. 1, and the possibility exists that 22 teams will take to the field come October.

In the meantime there is still plenty of work to be done to prepare for opening day, and the clock is ticking.
