The PebbleCreek Democratic Club Women’s Luncheon filled the meeting room of the Fiesta Mexicana Restaurant to capacity on February 27, sharing great food and friendships.
The PC Dems have started a monthly Mexican Train night for our members. Our membership interest survey showed more than 50 people are interested in playing the game, but some are new to it and there are many variations, so the Social Committee held a practice session game on February 24 to help everyone get comfortable with a common set of game rules.
On Sunday, March 3, the first game night was held in the Palermo room in Tuscany Falls Clubhouse. These will continue on the first Sunday of every month for the remainder of the year. Due to the high interest, prior sign-up for each game night is done via our club website and a waiting list is created once the sign-ups reach the room capacity. Three rounds of Mexican Train are played at each game night starting at 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and the last at 8:00 p.m. After each round, members switch tables, so they get to play with and to meet a variety of people.
Our Social Committee plans cultural, travel and social events like the Mexican Train Night, the Women’s Monthly Luncheon, the Men’s Monthly Breakfast and the every-Saturday-morning breakfast. The Women’s Luncheon is held on different days of the month at restaurants in the West Valley, the Men’s Breakfast is the second Wednesday of each month at 8:15 a.m. in Eagle’s Nest and the Saturday weekly breakfast is 8:00 a.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Alcove.
