Winter Wii Bowling Season

Melissa Kallett

The Winter Season of Wii Bowling is set to return to the Tuscany Falls Ballroom, with play running from Jan. 13 through March 31 (with no play on Jan. 20, March 3, or March 24 due to scheduling conflicts). Registration will run from Nov. 25 through Dec. 6.

This season, in an attempt to accommodate the growing interest in our Wii Bowling League, we are offering a new Afternoon session in addition to our traditional Twi-Lite and Evening sessions. This season, registrants will need to identify and prioritize their session preference: Afternoon session (2:30-4 p.m.), Twi-Lite session (4:30-6 p.m.), or Evening session (6:30-8 p.m). Once all registration packages are received we will do our best to accommodate registrants with placement in their First or Second preferred session.

Registration is $20 per person ($120 per 6-person team) via payment with your Homeowners card or credit card. In addition, players are required to pay a $10 prize fund fee at the first Wii session. You are encouraged to register as a full team, though we will do our best to create or match other registrants to form teams. Registration forms are available at the Eagle’s Nest Activities Office and online at the HOA website at “Announcements” then scroll down to “Activities and Recreation.”

Persons who will be out of town during the registration period will need to arrange for a local neighbor or friend to register for them. No advance or email registration will be accepted.

Just what is Wii Bowling? It’s an interactive, fun game involving moderate activity, and a remote control device. The wireless control looks much like your TV remote, and while you swing your arm, the device mimics the actions of rolling the ball down the alley. The result is projected on a TV screen … the pins go flying, you rack up the score … and it’s just that easy! No actual balls scurrying down the lanes, and no oil from the alleys to get your hands dirty. Best part yet? No previous experience at playing Nintendo games is required, because this game is easy to learn. If you can turn the channels via your TV remote control, then you can Wii Bowl.

Grab your friends and neighbors, proceed to the Activities Center at Eagle’s Nest, and sign up for the Wii Bowling League. Let the games begin!
