If you are a new resident to the community of PebbleCreek, the fact that it is a very active adult resort community is becoming very apparent to you. Several clubs and organizations are listed in the PebbleCreek Source Book™ or the PebbleCreek Post or in the libraries at each of the clubhouses. Within these publications are two listings for T.T.T. (which members pronounce Tri-T). You may have heard it mentioned or seen articles from one of the two chapters.
Arizona Chapters P and Q are the two Goodyear chapters within the PebbleCreek community. They are part of a national organization called National T.T.T. Society which is headquartered in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. This October 15 through 17, 2015, there will be a gathering of delegates from across the country for the 58th National Convention being held in Des Moines, Iowa. These delegates will be holding meetings to discuss organizational business and to further local membership.
As the corresponding secretary for AZ Chapter Q, it seemed timely to inform our community about this organization that is over 100 years old. Founded by six college friends in 1911, their mission became one that would provide a camping experience for qualified young girls.
AZ Chapter Q was installed in March of 2007 here in PebbleCreek. Since that date we have sent a total of 34 fourth grade girls to summer camp at the Girl Scouts’ camp at Willow Springs which is located in the pines of Prescott. It is our belief that camping presents an atmosphere that provides each of our campers an opportunity to learn her self-worth, to develop initiative, to increase her sense of self-expression and to learn co-operation with her peers.
Tri-T, T.T.T., stands for our members’ Time, Talent and Treasures volunteered to make our fundraisers rewarding. The purpose for our fund-raising activities is to gain the monies to outfit our campers with camping equipment, to furnish the clothing needed for a week of summer camping activities and to provide them with an experience that will influence their young lives for the future. Each year our fourth grade girls are selected by their teachers from the school.
On March 12, 2016, AZ Chapter Q will once again partner with Dillard’s at Arrowhead to present a fabulous fashion show with lunch for the women of PebbleCreek. More details to follow.
