Traci Baker, Director, Community Activities and Communications
You may have heard about the Cinema Society program we offer that brings carefully selected films to PebbleCreek. In an effort to try to provide our homeowners with some additional entertainment opportunities, through our Cinema Society connection, your Activities Office is offering our community the chance to experience a virtual theatrical experience featuring the kind of films Cinema Society is known for. Virtual cinema gives film lovers the opportunity to open the virtual doors of theaters to screen a new theatrical release in the comfort and safety of their own homes! Many of the films offered are not available to view anywhere else. As new films are offered through Virtual Cinema, they will be posted on the Virtual Cinema page under Things to Do >> Activities Office on the HOA website at www.pebblecreekhoa.org.
Every new release we offer will be available through the individual distributors’ websites and streaming services. You’ll be taken to their websites to purchase and watch the film. Some of the films currently available include two music-related documentaries; Gordon Lightfoot: If You Could Read my Mind, an intimate documentary that explores the life of the Canadian hit maker, and a film called Creem, about the legendary rock magazine of the same name. We also have a fantastic new film from two-time Academy Award®-winning filmmaker, Barbara Kopple, called Desert One. It tells the incredible tale of America’s secret mission to free the hostages of the 1979 Iranian revolution. Also, the much-anticipated documentary from Academy-Award winner Ron Howard, Rebuilding Paradise, a film about the devastating firestorm that engulfed the picturesque city of Paradise, California. There are several others as well, all carefully selected by the Cinema Society’s director, Andy Friedenberg.
