On April 1, at the PebbleCreek Republican Club’s (PCRC) annual BBQ, attendees welcomed Dan Schneider, the vice president of Free Speech America at the Media Research Center (MRC) in Washington, D.C. The MRC is dedicated to documenting and combating the falsehoods and censorship of the news media, entertainment media, and Big Tech. He enlightened us in how his organization, MRC, plays a crucial role in monitoring the landscape of government and media.
With a background as a lawyer, policy professional, and political strategist, Dan has served in various roles within the White House, executive branch agencies, the U.S. Senate, and the U.S. House of Representatives. His journey has taken him from the vibrant streets of New York City to the historic corridors of Washington, D.C., and even to the distant city of Zheng Zhou, China.
He previously served as the executive director of the American Conservative Union, an organization known for organizing CPAC. Driven by a deep commitment to bring political balance to the news and entertainment media in 2022, Dan joined the Media Research Center , a conservative media watchdog group started by Brent Bozell in 1987. The MRC ‘s mission is to defend and preserve America’s founding principles and Judeo-Christian values.
Over time, the MRC has become one of the most active and best-funded arms of the modern conservative movement in the United States. Their influence has grown, with over 80% of what is seen on Fox News originating from MRC’s research.
MRC most recently organized the congressional hearings of NPR and PBS and is pushing to defund taxpayer support. The MRC is a nonprofit organization therefore no payment is taken for their work. He encouraged anyone interested in volunteering to help with research or donating to this nonprofit, to go to mrc.org.
