Unit Rep Meeting

Bob Young and Janet Miazga

Karen Reuland will be the featured speaker at the Unit Rep meeting to be held Monday, June 8, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. in the Chianti Room in the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse. Karen will inform us of the monthly resales in PebbleCreek dating back to 2005 up to May 2015. Information will include average price per square foot, the number of active resale listings, pending sales, houses sold, average days on the market, medium sales price and much more. Karen is originally from the Pacific Northwest and now embraces desert living and specializes in residential homes in the West Valley. Karen has over 35 years’ experience in the real estate and legal fields. We will also review what a Unit Rep does and how we can improve our service to the community. This will be our last meeting until October.

Residents are invited to attend Unit Rep meetings to learn more about what is going on in the community and to meet and exchange information with other homeowners. If you would like to become a Unit Rep contact the Unit Rep Co-Chair Janet Miazga at [email protected].

Unit 19 Breakfast

Barbara Risden and Donna Frole

Unit 19 wrapped up April with a breakfast at Eagle’s Nest attended by 38 people. We enjoyed meeting some residents in our unit for the first time. The staff at the restaurant was fantastic and the food was delicious. The conversation flowed and everyone is looking forward to our next gathering.

Unit 27A Scattering Lunch

Camille Grabb

It’s that time of year when we’ll see some temporary changes around our fabulous neighborhood! Some folks are preparing for the heat that’s on its way, some folks are packing suitcases for cooler vacation spots and some folks are heading back to their other homes.

Before we all scatter everywhere, on April 23 some neighbors took a break and gathered for lunch at The Haymaker. Have a great summer, everyone—wherever it takes you!

Unit 40 Bocce Party

Diane Passafiume

Our end of season event was held at the Tennis/Bocce Activity Center in Eagle’s Nest. After socializing and snacking the whole group ventured to the Bocce courts where, for those who did not know how to play, instructions were given as to the rules and regulations of the game. Then teams were formed mixing the experienced players with the novices; what fun! Some of the novices gave the pros a run for their money. There was so much enthusiasm that talk of forming more teams has already started. This event was organized by Jeff and Cindy Young; a big Unit 40 thank you for all their hard work.

Unit 41

Cathy Guerriero

Betty Royal of Unit 41 formed Cactus Cuties about eight years ago. Since then Cactus Cuties gather for lunch at Toscana’s every other month. It feels good to support our own restaurants, meet our new neighbors, catch up with old friends and make new ones.

Thank you, Tayler, for serving us.

Unit 42B hosted block party

Mary Ann Bose

On Saturday, April 11 Unit 42B hosted its first annual Block Party.

Since the unit is so new the party was an opportunity for residents to meet their neighbors; some for the first time and others once more before they leave to their summer residences. Neighbors all provided a dish to share as well as their choice of beverage. A great time was had by all and everyone is looking forward to doing this again next year.

Thanks to all the residents who shared their tables, pop-ups and chairs and to those that helped set up and take down everything.

Unit 43A charity event

Doug Ginter

Twenty residents and guests from Unit 43A participated in a Feed My Starving Children Mobil Pack event on April 25 at Verrado High School. The event was held on Saturday and Sunday; the total meals packed were 272,162; this total exceeded the goal of 255,000 meals. Feed My Starving Children is a nonprofit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. The Unit 43A group is already looking forward to participating again next year.

Unit 52 celebrates Cinco de Mayo

Liz Gibson

More than 70 Unit 52 partygoers celebrated Cinco de Mayo on Cinco de Mayo at Fiesta Mexicana. Of course, the margaritas flowed and, with a variety of menu choices, the aroma of quesadillas and chimichangas permeated the festive air.

Now that we have enjoyed our second major party, the Social Committee is already meeting to plan our Oktoberfest and holiday parties. In addition to our four annual parties each year, we always add some additional nights too, e.g., Augies or Waddells.
