Unit 3 Celebrates the Super Bowl in Style
Linda Babcock
Super Bowl Sunday was celebrated by Unit 3 at the home of our Unit Social Ambassadors, Shonnie and Randy Harrison. Neighbors arrived with team jerseys or team colors. The decorations were football appropriate, the food was a combination of Unit members’ inspiration for game day, and the Patriots and Seahawks were cheered enthusiastically. The 12th man rooting for the Seahawks was very much in the house. The food was abundant, the football pool was shared by four lucky winners, and the evening was a huge success. Coming together to cheer on Super Bowl teams is a tradition we enjoy in Unit 3.

Jan Frustaglia
On Jan. 18, Unit 36 welcomed its new neighbors. The afternoon event, hosted by Susan Leonardo and Rick Acton in their home, was delightful with great food and drink as well as football playoff games on the patio. Unit 36 has had 20 homes change ownership over the past two years. Another event for those who could not attend this party will be held in March. Unit 36 has a total of 153 homes, and its residents are constantly busy enjoying the amenities at PebbleCreek.

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner in Unit 44
Jean Harris
Unit 44 kicked off the New Year with their third “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” event held on Jan. 3. Peggy Hayner and husband John Arpan hosted the pre-dinner crowd for drinks and appetizers before participants were directed to their host’s house for dinner. Gwen DeBernardi once again pulled off a flawless, fun night in which the host provides the main dish, guests bring side dishes, and up until the doorbell rings, no one knows who will be around the dinner table. By dining together in small groups, our neighbors get to know each other better.
WM Phoenix Open Steals Some Thunder from Unit 44’s Men’s Breakfast
Dan Harris
On Feb. 4, the faithful men of Unit 44 gathered once again at the Eagle’s Nest Restaurant for our monthly breakfast, good food, and even better conversation. The turnout was solid but noticeably lighter than usual—several of our dedicated members opted to chase the excitement of the WM Phoenix Open instead. They headed out early to stake out spots amid the roaring “Coliseum” at the famous 16th hole, hoping to catch glimpses of top golfers and celebrities (who, as we all know, rarely tee off before the afternoon).
So to our golf-celebrity-chasing die-hards, a quick reality check—you could have enjoyed a hearty breakfast, caught up on the latest Unit 44 news, and still made it to the grandstands in plenty of time. No need to skip the bacon for the birdies!
Despite the golf pull, nine stalwart attendees made for an excellent morning of fellowship, sharing updates on Unit 44 happenings and weighing in on events near and far. Unit 46 Ladies Play Hand, Knee, and Foot

The ladies of Unit 46 play Hand, Knee, and Foot every week. Recently we have had 12 participants for four tables of fun. This get-together was hosted by Vicky Ferraresi. We continue to have new residents join us as our unit approaches completion, and are happy to teach anyone willing to join in. Pictured from left are Kelly Rogers, Lori Goldade and Jackie Klenske (seated), Susan Gildea, Tracy Kieras, Jackie McAfee, JungSuk Mallen, Diane Brzozowski, Vicky Ferraresi, and seated, Ann Ratterman and Sally Coon.

Unit 46’s New Pickleball Group!
Spike Razem
Unit 46 continues to be a new and growing neighborhood. Only four lots (out of 74 total) remain unsold. And with a new Unit comes new residents who are moving in and yearning to get active with all that PebbleCreek has to offer.
Unit 46 has bocce ball teams, games nights, happy hours, book clubs, golf groups, Men’s Breakfasts, Ladies’ Luncheons, and more. But now, how about a pickleball group?!
Recently, Julie Eisenberg has come forward to organize a Monday and Wednesday 7:30 a.m. North Courts group for neighbors to gather and enjoy pickleball. Seasoned players along with any newbies are welcome. It’s an excellent way to socialize and get some exercise while enjoying our beautiful Arizona weather.
For any questions or further information, contact Julie at 314-494-8437 or juliepebblecreek@gmail.com. More fun times are happening in Unit 46!
Unit 53 Men’s Lunch
Valerie Spiegel
The men of Unit 53 did not have to travel far for a great lunch in February. Indeed, our local Eagle’s Nest “eatery” was the choice destination for these fine R.O.M.E.O.s. Ron Guerin, the coordinator, welcomes any “stand-up” guy to this growing group that meets on the first Friday of each month.

Lou Malnati’s was the Surprise location of the first Unit 53 R.O.M.E.O. luncheon of 2026. Every man in attendance agreed it was a great way to start the new year. Only nine men were in attendance but the organizer, Ron Guerin, hopes their numbers will build throughout the winter season. These luncheons are held on the first Friday of every month at noon. Feel free to call Ron at 913–638–4514 for the next location.

On a crisp morning, Jan. 21, the men’s breakfast group of Unit 58 gathered for their latest get-together. The group, consisting of residents and friends, met at Eagle’s Nest restaurant, known for its welcoming atmosphere and hearty breakfast fare.
The restaurant buzzed with early morning energy as members began arriving around 8 a.m. Warm greetings and friendly handshakes were exchanged as each man took his seat at the tables reserved for the group. The ambiance was relaxed yet lively, with the smell of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon filling the air.
Once everyone was settled, the group placed their orders, ranging from classic pancakes and eggs to southwestern omelets. Conversation flowed easily, covering topics included newly opened restaurants in Goodyear, disciplinary actions in the softball league, and the benefits of installing lithium batteries in golf carts. Laughter was a constant companion, punctuating stories both old and new.
Before departing, many expressed gratitude for the sense of belonging and fellowship the group provides.

Since January’s 62A’s happy hour was an open date to get together, the group decided to change things up and meet at a restaurant instead. Everyone gathered at Macayo’s on Jan. 22 at 5 p.m. to enjoy Mexican food and good conversation at the Litchfield and McDowell location. It was a fun and relaxed evening spent catching up and sharing lots of good laughs together. Toni Erickson
The annual “My Favorite Things” gathering was hosted in the lovely home of Laurie Wyman on Jan. 29. The evening began at 6:30 p.m., with each guest bringing a favorite item valued between $15–$25—something they personally love or thought someone else would truly enjoy. Before the game began, everyone presented their unwrapped item so all participants could see what was available to choose from or “steal.”
A total of 21 ladies joined in the fun, each leaving with a new favorite thing. The assortment of gifts was wonderfully varied and included wine glasses, a wooden Valentine heart, an Easter egg light, a charcuterie board, lotions, a night clock, a rechargeable screwdriver, microwavable hand mitts, a versatile kitchen scarf for oven use or hand drying, a travel pill bottle, travel cosmetic bag, hair products, and many other thoughtful and fun items. It proved to be another great night on Sheridan Street!
December 62A Ladies’ Lunch Outing
Toni Erickson
Three cars, each filled with four gals, headed out for lunch at the Thirsty Lion at Westgate in Glendale on Jan. 9. With a menu offering something for everyone, the restaurant easily satisfied the appetites of all 12 Unit 62A ladies. The lunch was filled with lively conversation as we caught up on family visits—both those who came for Christmas and those we went to visit—along with sharing stories from the new year. Despite the tempting outlet shopping just steps away, our gabbing took priority before we happily headed back to Sheridan Street.
From left to right around the table are Pat Gonzales, Lisa Reichert, Judy Meservey, Barb Downey, Janelle Watts, Jackie MacKenzie, Marilyn Coates, Renee Fisher, Pat Pakin, Cathe Pruyn, Toni Erickson, and Joanne Wrout.

Card Ladies of Unit 62B Celebrate Friendship
Judy Freidman
Having a heart is the kindness shared toward family and friends in a time of need. One of our neighbors, Cindy Zaklan, moved to Wisconsin to be closer to her family and we have stayed in touch. She shared with us that she has been recently diagnosed with breast cancer. We are forming hearts to send her love, prayers, and hugs during her treatment and recovery.
The hand, knee, and foot ladies of 62B gathered at the home of Nancy Moore to enjoy a delicious spread of fruits, sandwiches, and amazing desserts. Once a year we hold a card tournament, and this is the culmination and celebration of fun times with winners and losers being recognized.
