Unit 8 Ladies’ Luncheon
Alisa Moore
The ladies of Unit 8 chose an absolutely perfect late April day for their monthly luncheon, this month at Eagle’s Nest on the porch facing the fountain and the golf course. We enjoyed great food, fun conversation, and glorious sunshine! Anyone residing in Unit 8, full or part time, who would like to join us, please contact Jane Holdcroft at jkh2125@aol.com. Unit 15 Celebrates Cinco de Mayo
Brenda Scarbrough
It was a day with margaritas, palomas, nachos, queso dip, taquitos, empanadas, Mexican pizza, churros, and much, much more! The 15ers enjoyed a Happy Hour Fiesta hosted by Margaret and Mike Vellon. There’s nothing better than good food with fun friends! Pictured from the left: standing are Frank Stofa, Helene Rodway, Margaret Vellon, Mary Capp, Karen Stanley, Diane Pratuch, Gary Fontanetta, Scott Miller, Billy Londino; seated are Dolly Fontanetta, Wendy Stofa, Cathie Futernick, and Kelly Basham. The photobomb shadow is me (haha!).
Unit 15 Ladies’ Breakfast
The conversation flowed and friendships formed during a lovely ladies’ breakfast at Eagle’s Nest for these 15ers. We had residents ranging from a 27-year veteran to two 1-month newcomers. It was so much fun we’ve decided to make this a monthly occurrence. Pictured from the left: seated are Mary Lu Weidner, Margaret Vellon, Dolly Fontanetta, Diane Pratuch, Brenda Scarbrough; standing are Mary Kay Allen, Stephanie Allen, Wendy Stofa, Cathie Futernick, and Kelly Basham.

Unit 26 neighbors gathered for our monthly Happy Hour in April at the Oasis Pool. Hosted by Steve Pick and Debra Gunderson, those attending delighted in the weather and friendship, nibbling on appetizers and enjoying grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. The monthly gathering has proven to be a perfect means to meet and stay in touch with those in our 97-homes neighborhood.
Unit 42B April Gathering

Unit 42B had an event in April to say so long to our snowbirds. See you in the fall!
Back By Popular Demand in Unit 44
Jean Harris
Unit 44’s first “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?” event, held in January 2025, was such a success that we did a similar night while our snowbirds are still in town. “Guess Who’s Coming to BBQ?” was just as fun, this time with three hosts and a unit full of attendees. Scott and Deborah Crabtree hosted the before-dinner Happy Hour. Thanks to Gwen DeBernardi for the great idea. More fun in Unit 44!
April Showers Bring Bunco Babes in Unit 44
Jean Harris
Bunco hosted by Peggy Hayner was a happy night for the gals of Unit 44 and their fun friends. First-time player Susan Labasky took away top honors and serious cash! Peggy gifted everyone healthy succulent plants and all had a great, fun night as usual in Unit 44. Seated, left to right, are Susan Labasky, Judy Campbell, Judy Gorski, Merilee White; standing are Pam Steinburg, Cindy Klein, Tammy LaFrazia, Debbie Baron, Diane Russo, Jody Hoff, and Peggy Hayner.
Unit 44 Men Welcome New Resident at Breakfast
Dan Harris
On May 7, nine men from Unit 44 gathered at Eagle’s Nest for their monthly Men’s Breakfast to warmly welcome Andy LaFrazia. Andy and his wife, Tammy, moved to PebbleCreek in April and are eagerly exploring the community before returning to southern Washington for the summer. As the newly crowned youngest homeowners in Unit 44, they’ve taken the “baby” title from Dan and Jean Harris, opening the door for good-natured teasing that comes with the territory. This marked the final breakfast of the spring, with the group shifting to lunches in June through September to accommodate morning golf tee times during the summer. Attendees, pictured from the lower left and moving clockwise, were Doug Kirkpatrick, Andy LaFrazia, Mark Eichkorn, Rick Labasky, Dan Harris (photographer), Wayne Thomas, Darrell Livingston, Bob Millikan, and Bob Olson.
“Singin’ in the Rain” with Unit 44

Unit 44 showed up in force to support our very own Laurie Eickhorn, as Lina Lamont, in the April 4 PC’s Showtime production of “Singin’ in the Rain.” Prior to the show, Peggy Hayner and husband John Arpan hosted a pre-show gathering at their home. Way to go, Laurie and the fabulous cast!

So, a niece of one of our Unit 46 residents took a good, long look at the group photo and said, “Everyone looks like they’re in a Happy Cult getting ready for their sacred drink.”
Much fun was had by all of our Unit 46 neighbors who attended the May 1 Happy Hour at the Westwind Tavern. Unit Coordinator Vicky Ferraresi and Social Chairman Susan Gildea did a fantastic job in organizing this event. (Perhaps it was the two identical reminders that were sent?!)
Nonetheless, we were told to purchase a beverage and gather on the patio near the fireplace. So, an amazingly large group of 43 neighbors attended, many to wish the soon-to-depart snowbirds a “Safe and Happy Farewell” for the summer.
Although temperatures will soon be rising, the residents of Unit 46 continue to plan fun events, including an upcoming potluck at the Oasis Pool. So, based on their high consumption of cool, refreshing summer drinks, the Unit 46 Happy Cult will most likely continue their merry ways.

Unit 46 Ladies’ Luncheon Fun!
An excellent turnout of 17 Unit 46 ladies assembled at Eagle’s Nest Restaurant on April 16 to catch up on each other’s happenings and enjoy a delicious, high-value meal together. One of the highlights was Unit Coordinator Vicky Ferraresi who captivated the group with interesting details of her big, recent international trip.
Once the lunch concluded and before everyone departed, the group got together for a photo or two or three. Of course the photo selected for the PebbleCreek Post featured some silliness, especially portrayed by Kelli, Susan, and Anita in the middle. Fun, fun, fun!
A big thanks goes to Tracy Kieras and Karen Ramberg who organized this enjoyable monthly event for the Unit neighbors.
Unit 49B Ladies’ Lunch
Karen Fiorenza

Heather Adamscheck
Unit 49B neighbors gathered for a driveway party on May 4. Todd and Heather Adamscheck hosted the event and everyone enjoyed cold drinks and appetizers while meeting some new friends from our unit. We had to cut it short due to the approaching thunderstorm that hit us that evening, but a great time was had by all who attended.
Unit 53 R.O.M.E.O
Valerie Spiegel
As we all know, friendly guys love burgers and fries. This food preference tendency is a universal truth that has no age limit. So it’s no surprise, the men of Unit 53 went the extra mile to try O.H.S.O. Brewery in Surprise for their month of May lunch. This lively brewery boasts a variety of Gold Canyon Angus burgers so it is safe to say that no one left hungry. Ron Guerin organizes these eating adventures for Unit 53 for the first Friday of every month, and all men in our unit are welcome to attend.
Unit 54 Men’s Breakfast
A few good men gathered for the May Unit 54 men’s breakfast at Eagle’s Nest. Interesting conversation, a hearty breakfast, and a few good-byes for the summer. Pictured from left are Mike Strong, Jack Klepinger, Rob Klein, Steve Lookabaugh, Richard Raugust, Steve Domholt, Harold Rathman, Ken Jarvi, Raj Sudan, Peter Chimicles. Not shown: Clair Martin.
Unit 54 Ladies’ Lunch
Barb Dunson
On April 11, 10 Unit 54 ladies enjoyed a beautiful day at a beautiful location for lunch. Verrado Gold Club did not disappoint with the food choices or the backdrop of the golf course. The weather was ideal and the misters kept us cool while dining outdoors. In attendance were Mary O’Neill, Joette Lookabaugh, Sheri Spirek, Hiromi Bashore, Sandy Schaefer, Terri Jarvi, Diane Rottman, Cindy Klein, Julie Kemper, and Barb Dunson.
Fun Times for Unit 57
Marcia DeSalvo
Unit 57 has enjoyed some fun outings recently. On March 18 we attended a lovely afternoon spring training game at Goodyear Ballpark. The beer and the camaraderie flowed easily. We also have monthly happy hours. Our last, on April 15, was at Babbo Italian Eatery and attended by Jodi Ryan, Dan Ryan (our unit leader), Bob DeSalvo, Bruce White, Jaki White, and Marcia DeSalvo.

Ed Raker
Unit 58 April Happy Hour
Brenda Deckard, Unit 58 Activities Coordinator
On April 25, Unit 58 held a very special Garden Party Happy Hour at the home of David and Brenda Deckard. This special night was all about honoring Ed Raker for his years of service to Unit 58. Ed is affectionately known as “The Mayor” of Unit 58. He plans the monthly men’s breakfasts and organizes the weekly pickleball fun that anyone is welcome to join each Thursday night at 7 p.m. Each year at Halloween, Ed and Lynn Jacobson hold a really fun costume party. We presented Ed with a handbuilt ceramic pickleball snack tray made by Brenda. Ed, we appreciate all you do for Unit 58!
Many of the guests said that the Deckards’ yard that includes three raised bed vegetable gardens was like a botanical paradise. The party guests each brought delicious treats to share with everyone and the hostess provided Palomas for a refreshing drink option.

Those in attendance were, from left to right, Lynn Jacobson, Laverne Bartolini, Debbie Janousek, Connie Mylak, Vicky Roelker, Brenda Deckard, Robbie Lowe, Susan Jackson, Claudia Moorefield , Susan Hunt, and Pat Stair.

On April 29, Unit 58 held a ladies breakfast at the new Over Easy restaurant in GSQ. We had a delightful breakfast on their beautiful outdoor patio. Unit 62A Books N Booze
Toni Erickson
“Books N Booze” was hosted on Toni Erickson’s patio on the evening of April 16. While the night began with lively conversations about “booze and broken bones,” “booze and bunions,” and even “booze and boots,” the group eventually shifted back to the main focus: books. They discussed the various titles they had read over the past two months since our last gathering. Books N Booze offers a chance to connect, read, share thoughts on books, discover new ones to add to your list, and even pass along favorites. It was a fun evening that, fittingly, wrapped up with a few more adult beverages.

Around the table from left to right are Joanne Wrout, Jackie Bachmann, Julie Greenbank, Toni Erickson, Barb Downey, Cathe Pruyn, Janelle Watts, Paula Hupka, and Renee Fisher.
62A Cards and Good Company
Toni Erickson
On April 2, Unit 62A got together in the Capri Room at the clubhouse for a fun afternoon of cards. Each week, the group switches things up by playing either Hand, Knee, and Foot or Samba—both favorites that bring out plenty of laughs and friendly competition. After the games wrapped up, the fun continued with adult beverages and good conversation at the Westwind Tavern—a perfect way to end the afternoon!
A big thank you to Julie Greenbank, Jackie Bachmann, and Joanne Wrout for keeping these games organized and making sure everyone has a great time. We appreciate all you do to keep the tradition going!
March Happy Hour
Toni Erickson
On March 19, the neighbors of Unit 62A gathered for a delightful happy hour at the beautiful home and backyard of Jim and Barb Downey. The evening was perfect, and the shared plates brought by neighbors were delicious. With over 40 attendees, it was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect and enjoy each other’s company, as we do each month. Those gathered around one of the tables on the patio are Renee Fisher, Joanne Wrout, Lynn Banks, Patti Trapp, Jackie Bachmann, Judy Meservey, hostess Barb Downey (standing), Julie Greenbank, Cathe Pruyn, and Jackie MacKenzie.

Unit 62A Breakfast for Dinner at Happy Hour
Toni Erickson
On April 12, Unit 62A neighbors gathered for a special Happy Hour featuring a breakfast-for-dinner theme. Originally planned at the Banks’ residence, the event was moved to the Oasis Pool due to the projected heat—great call for a more comfortable evening!
A sign-up link allowed everyone to RSVP and select a breakfast dish to bring, which made for a delicious mix of morning favorites. Guests also brought their beverage of choice and wore name tags, which helped everyone connect—especially as we welcomed a few new neighbors to the group. It was a relaxed, fun evening filled with great food, refreshing drinks, and wonderful company!
Arrivederci Snowbirds of 62A
Toni Erickson
Every year, Unit 62A gives a warm send-off to neighbors heading out for the summer with a fun gathering. This April, everyone met at the Oasis Ramada for an Italian dinner prepared and hosted by the social committee. Neighbors brought their favorite drinks and the meal featured plenty of lasagna choices, including vegetarian and gluten-free options, making sure no one left hungry. Getting everyone together for a group photo was no small feat—especially convincing the guys that it was a must and worth it!
Unit 62A Ladies Visit Chateau de Vie

On April 26, the ladies of Unit 62A visited Chateau de Vie for a tour of the historic mansion and its beautiful lavender gardens.
