Unit 34

Whoever said, “There is nothing going on during the summer in PebbleCreek” doesn’t know “Skipper” Kallett. The Skipper invited forty “creekers” to go motor-boatin’ around Lake Pleasant. We backed our SUVs up into the water, untied all the cables and ropes on our pontoon boat, got ourselves some cozies and went motor-boatin’.
We were entertained by our own D J, Joe “Mr. Cool” Chimera, along with some dancers who will remain unnamed. We rocked the boat all evening. Boatin’ and catchin’ rays up on the roof was all we wanted to do. Who said anything about swimmin’ or skiin’? We weren’t makin’ waves just putting our hands in the cooler, eating all the healthy appetizers, trying to keep steady as we reclined in our lounge chairs and havin’ a party in slow motion, five miles an hour, out there in the open…mmmmm, motor-boatin’.
For those of you who may be unfamiliar with Lake Pleasant Regional Park it is 46 miles from PebbleCreek just off Arizona State Rte 303 North. The cornerstone of the park is the 10,000-acre Lake Pleasant, one of the important artificial reservoirs surrounding the Phoenix metropolitan area. Lake Pleasant is used as a major water sports recreation center for the Phoenix metro area, as well as serving as an important storage reservoir for the rapidly growing region. This is a great idea for a Unit Party.
A good time was enjoyed by all.
Unit 53
Sandy Stephens
Sandy and Michael hosted the Unit 53 June Happy Hour to a lovely group of neighbor friends who gravitated toward the dining room table and any place else they found room to stand or sit. The resident dog, Sadie, kept everyone on guard watching their drinks and food and begging bites off of any willing guest. Unit 53 keeps Happy Hours going in the summer even though so many neighbors are snow birds or have escaped some or all of the summer heat that others are enjoying. With all the new people being added as new homes get built, hosts will run out of counters for all the food that is brought to the get-togethers.

Residents of Unit 61 enjoyed cooling off at the Oasis Pool for an Ice Cream Social on Friday, June 22, 2018. Everyone enjoyed their Hawaiian sundaes which were served up by the Snow What Ice Cream Truck which features authentic Hawaiian shaved ice. A big thanks goes out to Barb Geiges for organizing this fun event.

June began with a casual gathering at the Oasis Pool where we enjoyed the cool water and lots of fun and fellowship to start another fabulous month of activity in Unit 62A! Our bowling and dinner night added just the right amount of competitive spirit and camaraderie and showcased the talents of some of our more athletic neighbors.
The monthly Men’s Breakfast and Ladies Lunch continue to have large turnouts, delicious food and stimulating conversations! They’re also a great way to share various tips and tricks in navigating the building and decorating of our new homes! Sometimes we wonder, will it ever end?
The women of 62A play Hand and Foot twice a month and even in the summer with many folks traveling, we can easily fill four tables. Many times, you’ll see us head over to Toscana’s after the game to socialize even more! Since our summers are a bit warm, we’ve continued our competitive and fun nature indoors by playing Mexican Train with the guys! We’ve had 18-20 people each time and are really enjoying the game as well as learning who our real strategic players are! Did I mention that we’re a very competitive, fun group?
Our June pool party was a Luau theme and featured some wonderful Hawaiian food and a great turnout at the Oasis Pool! There were even a few neighbors with authentic looking Hawaiian shirts and dresses!
To cap off the month, 20 of us took the tour at Nature’s Medicine Dispensary. This is the same tour that Lifelong Learning offered and we all found it to be very informative and were amazed at the highly scientific processes and procedures to ensure both legality and pure concentrations of all their THC and non-THC products. We ended the evening with a great dinner at Pita Jungle.
We are so thankful for our fabulous social committee that spends hours researching, planning and coordinating all our events each month! The members are Lynn Banks-Chairperson, Jackie Bachman, Renee Fisher, Patti Trapp, Jackie Mackenzie, Pat Gonzales and Marilyn Coates. Thanks, ladies! You do a great job and are so appreciated by all of your neighbors!
