Ukulele Club Strums Into Fall!

Gillian Driscoll

The PebbleCreek (PC) Ukulele Club is welcoming back our snowbird members and gearing up for a fabulous fall and winter. We play a variety of songs at our jams and those who are brave enough come up to the microphone to sing (no pressure!).

We would like to extend an invitation to any PC residents who wish to explore learning to play this fun, easy to learn, inexpensive instrument whose name means the “jumping flea.” We also welcome musicians who play other string instruments such as guitar and banjo or who have percussion or harmonica experience. All are welcome but … no bagpipes please!

We enjoy playing all kinds of music and cover a wide range of popular songs from the 1920s to the present. We encourage members to add new songs to our repertoire so we can continue to challenge ourselves.

In January we will have our annual Open House where we invite all to come and visit us, try a uke, learn some simple chords, and jam with us. Look for details in the December PC Post.

You are welcome to any of our jams either to play, sing, or just listen and … we take requests! We meet on Thursdays in the Palm Room at the Eagles Nest Clubhouse from 1 to 2:30 p.m. For more information, contact Ross Hart at 541554-2679 or Gillian Driscoll at 303548-2108.
