PC Ukulele Club members enjoy an end-of-season celebration (photo by Jim Mitchell)
At the end of April members of the PebbleCreek (PC) Ukulele Club gathered to jam and party, and to say farewell to our snowbird members leaving us for the summer. The gathering was held at the home of Irene Manalili, a longtime club member, and her husband Bart Alford who generously lent their lovely outdoor patio for the celebration.
For the first hour and a half, club members played and sang some of their favorite songs joined by spouses and guests. After the jam was over, everyone enjoyed delicious goodies brought by the attendees. A great time was had by all and it was a fitting send off for those we will not see again until the fall.
The PC Ukulele Club meets all year round on Thursdays in the Palm Room at the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Both newcomers and seasoned players are welcome. We can offer some basic instruction to those who haven’t played before and lend you a uke to see if it is for you. We love to have new members!
We also welcome anyone who wants to listen and/or join in and sing along with us. We are a welcoming, happy group. After all, the ukulele, whose name means the “jumping flea,” is a happy instrument that makes both players and listeners smile!
