Goodyear Vice Mayor Wally Campbell and Councilmember Laura Kaino have been selected to participate in the newly established Civic Craft Leadership Program, launched by the Arizona League of Cities and Towns.
The year-long, nonpartisan program is designed exclusively for municipal elected officials in Arizona who have completed the League’s Newly Elected Officials Training and are currently serving in office. Only 50 leaders statewide are chosen for each cohort.
Through monthly virtual and in-person workshops, the Civic Craft Leadership Program will feature interactive sessions, expert speakers, real-world case studies, and valuable networking opportunities with leaders from across the state. The program aims to help elected officials strengthen their leadership skills, exchange ideas, and develop solutions to improve their communities.
“Serving the people of Goodyear means constantly learning and seeking new ways to address challenges,” said Vice Mayor Campbell. “This program will provide valuable insights and resources that will help us continue building a vibrant, forward-thinking community.”
“This program offers a rare opportunity to collaborate with elected officials from across Arizona, share best practices, and bring back innovative solutions that will directly benefit our city now and for years to come,” said Councilmember Laura Kaino. “I’m committed to using every resource available to strengthen the quality of life for our residents.”
The Arizona League of Cities and Towns created the Civic Craft Leadership Program to foster stronger, more connected local government leaders and ensure Arizona’s municipalities are equipped to meet future challenges.
